X10 Lamp Control Over The Internet With Live Streaming Video Example

In this project, we are trying to find the simplest way to allow public access to X10 home automation devices while maintaining a secure environment that does not allow anything damaging to happen. The video and button below are live and in my home. This post will describe how this is done.

Books I’ve read and recommend

Professional JavaScript for Web Developers
Incredibly in depth while still being broad in scope. It may be daunting for beginners but if you buy only one book that I recommend, buy this one.

Beginning Javascript 4e
If you know HTML but haven't done much programming, this is an excellent book for teaching you javascript. It starts easy and then proceeds to cover everything about modern javascript use in a browser. Each chapter has exercises with complete answer explanations.

JavaScript Programmers Reference
If you are a programmer, especially an object oriented type programmer, and you want to learn more about javascript then this book is for you. It describes everything about javascript from the perspective of a C++ or Java programmer. The reference section at the end of the book is very comprehensive and earned it a place on the shelves by my PC.

JavaScript: The Good Parts
If you know javascript and typeof NaN === 'number' makes you chuckle then you will enjoy reading this book. It will fill in a lot of gaps in your knowledge of javascript and how it works.
